A middle aged man was forced to run for his dear life after he was busted stealing chicken. The incident happened on Thursday in Getare North, Borabu in Nyamira County.
It is alleged that the suspect identified as Kibeni was found by his neighbor, Henry Mogaka, stealing chicken at night.
Henry said the dogs barked at night something that led him to wake up to confirm what was happening.
“The dogs barked for about 10 minutes than usual on Thursday at 11 pm. I woke up with my touch and spear to see what was wrong. I was shocked to see Kibeni, my neighbor in the room where the chicken sleeps putting the chicken into a sack,” said Mogaka.
He said he threw the spear to hit the suspect who escaped through the window with the spear injuries.
“I hit him with a spear but he escaped with injuries abandoning the sack with the chicken. I raised alarm to attract residents but we didn’t manage to arrest him because he disappeared into the darkness,” he added.
Edward Kerema, area assistant chief confirmed the incident and said the suspect is being traced to be arrested.
The local administrator added that the suspect dropped school in form 3 last year and he has been stealing people’s property in the area.
Kerema said the suspect will be arrested and taken to court to be charged.
