Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i has now joined the race to replace Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati as the Gusii community spokesperson.
This is after he was endorsed by a section of elected leaders from the region.
They argued that he was the most suitable person who could ensure that gusii people see the fruits if working with Jubilee.
In the political heated event that was held in Nyangweta area on Sunday Nominated senator Millicent Omanga said that they are ready to rally elders from the region to bless and crown Matiang'i as the community spokesperson and disown Arati.
"We don't believe in Simba Arati because he endorsed himself to the post. The CS should be the spokesperson," said Omanga.
Her sentiments were echoed by South Mugirango Mp Sylvanus Osoro who as well said the region doesn't recognize Simba Arati as the community spokesperson.
"We need leaders who can champion Gusii community matters and not people of self interest such as Arati and soon he will be crowned" said Osoro.
Matiang'i on his side said he is currently serving Kenyans and the community as well and he won't go against a calling from leaders and elders.
"I appreciate the endorsement and if the elders also give me a node I won't back down but take the role" said Matiang'i.
