While suggesting that there is 'little' to do in his office, Matiang'i added that he will be supervising his officers in their respective working stations.

"There is little in my office and sometimes I spend the whole day doing nothing. In fact, may work should be visiting villages," he said while overseeing destruction of gambling machines.

The tough speaking minister added: "I will be moving to various regions across the country as we execute our duties. The president wants us to be close to people."

During the event at Dagoretti South, Matiang'i reconciled with his rival Simba Arati, whom he has been contesting top Gusii spokesperson position with.

Should he implement his new strategy, it will however not be the first since he used to make impromptu visits to schools while at education ministry.
