Mboko says that Jumwa did not speak on behalf of ODM or Coast opposition politicians when she backed DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambition.

Speaking to Likoni Town residents on Tuesday , Mboko said that Jumwa made her own personal statement.

“People should stop lamenting because what I understand is that my colleague Aisha Jumwa was expressing her own views,” she said.

Mboko said that Mombasa and Coast region remains an ODM and opposition zone.

“Unless we are advised otherwise by our party leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, we are not going to shift our loyalty to anyone else,” the vocal Likoni legislator said.

Mboko said that it is too early for politicians to start making endorsements and political alignments.

“What we should be doing is to deliver the promises we made to our people and not making endorsements,” she said.

The Raila Odinga ally said that the country might not achieve her development agenda if politicians continue politicking and debating 2022.

On Sunday, Jumwa declared support for DP Ruto presidential bid in 2022.She said that no one can stop an idea whose time has come.

Jumwa’s endorsement of DP Ruto’s 2022 bid has shocked many since she (Jumwa) has been a critic of the Jubilee government.
