Ambassador Mohamud Swaleh is the regional coordinator of northeastern province.
Prior to his appointment for the position, he was Kenyan Ambassador to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Courtesy of his vast range experience on matters of security, he was poached from the middle -east country by President Uhuru Kenyatta in May 2014 to coordinate and oversee peace initiatives in the region.
The alumnus of Manchester University is reputed to have played a critical role in the eradication of the Shifa (banditry) that has plagued the region since the 2000's.
He singlehandedly took upon himself to annihilate completely the pervasive bandits that terrorised the residents .
The experienced regional coordinator is also credited with the scale down of the numerous terror attacks that rocked the region for decades.
