At a function in South Mugirango on Sunday, Omanga dismissed Arati's decision to be installed as Kisii spokesman, adding that 'men married outside the community are impotent'.

But the remarks seems to have backfired on Omanga with hundreds of social media users launching scathing attacks on her.

"This woman is not even elected leave alone nominated on merit. She is a Delilah who pokes nose on genuine leaders," said Vincent Osumo on Facebook.

Another user Steward Oyugi said: "Nobody is interested in her shapeless body. If she wants to be a spokesperson, let her even try to be elected."

On Nyamira Politics WhatsApp group, various users lauded Arati's decision to take up the spokesman position, asking him to ignore critics.

"He went for it and nobody has denied these other fellows. It is disrespectful for that woman to attack Arati's wife yet we don't know whether she is even married," said Job Oyugi.

While addressing residents, Omanga insisted the post should be taken by Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, who is the senior most leader by the virtue of his position.
