Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has landed a new job as Secretary General of the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA).

Mboko was elected an opposed for the seat during Kewopa election and induction on Saturday night.Mboko, a close ally and confidant of NASA leader Raila Odinga pledged to work deligently for the parliamentary women association.She said that it is new dawn for the association urging women parliamentarians to put aside party politics and spearhead development.She appealed to women elected leaders to speak for the voiceless and ensure equality and respect for rule of law.Kirinyaga Women Representative Purity Ngirici was elected as Kewopa chairperson taking over from former Runyenjes MP Cecile Mbarire.Ngirici urged women to support her as she embarks on a journey of ensuring women rights are respected.She pledged to push for the passing and implementation of the two thirds gender rule once parliament resumes from recess.Nominated senator Millicent Omanga was elected Kewopa vice chairperson.
