Days after cracks emerged in the opposition's NASA coalition, two co-principals, Musalia Mudavadi (ANC party leader) and Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya are scheduled for a joint visit to Western Kenya.

This raises questions as to whether NASA which comprises of four political parties (the mentioned two and ODM, Wiper) is still together, as the principals emphasised.

Differences in the coalition came about after ODM party leader Raila Odinga held a truce meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9, without consulting his three colleagues - Mudavadi, Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka.

Odinga's ODM senators later dethroned Wetangula, the Bungoma senator from his Senate Minority Leader position at the Senate Assembly replacing him with Siaya senator James Orengo, a move that Mudavadi and Kalonzo have strongly opposed.

Mudavadi and Wetangula who are seen as the Luhya community political saviours (as of now) have planned for a joint rally in Bungoma town on Sunday, March 25, locking out Odinga and Musyoka.

Ford Kenya issued a communication on Wednesday, saying the duo would first attend a church service at Christ the Kings Catholic Church in Bungoma town.

Three of them excluding Odinga, recently toured Kitui West Constituency to campaign for Wiper's Edith Nyenze, ahead of the March 26 by-election, leaving NASA supporters wondering why Odinga failed to accompany them.

On Tuesday, Ford Kenya Deputy Party Leader, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale called on the luhya community to rally behind Mudavadi and Wetangula.

"We must all recognize that ours is now the most populous community in Kenya (standing at a population of 7 million people plus) which will be the single largest single voting block in 2022," he said.

Khalwale said every presidential wannabe is salivating for Luhya votes.

"Firm plans have been put in place complete with millions of shillings to scatter us. Some of our local leaders will be financed in this scheme either to offer support roles to non Baluhyia candidates or even purport to offer themselves for election for president or be vying for position of governors purely as spoilers."

The endgame, he said is to render the presidential ambitions of Mudavadi and Wetangula as stillborn.

"I appeal to all of u not to succumb to the above machinations. With our numerical strength we can't afford to sell ourselves short," the bullfighter told the Luhya community.

Wetangula had earlier warned that NASA divorce would be messy, noisey and would have casualties.
