Some MPs who enjoy immunity from State House reportedly claimed that Ruto has been protecting rogue businessmen believed to be promoting illegal sugar business.

"Those who are behind are now complaining. You can clearly see who they support in Jubilee government," said a Mt.Kenya MP.

Early on Wednesday, Majority Leader Aden Duale dismissed claims that he has been promoting the business after he was linked by media reports.

At Nyamira, Jubilee leaders now want Uhuru to 'tame' his men or face difficult times ahead in the management of the government.

"We are tired with witch-hunt. It is now becoming regular that every scandal the DP is behind it. The president should now tame his me for his own good," said George Mosiori, a nominated MCA.

And Gesima MCA Mokaya Maroko added: "The DP must be respected at all costs. It is wrong to malign his name just because of 2022 politics."

Other than the illegal sugar, politicians allied to Uhuru have also accused the DP of allegedly sabotaging the war against graft.

Over the weekend, outspoken Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu openly rebuked Ruto for allegedly opposing lifestyle audit through his allies.
