A section of leaders from Garissa County has asked National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate in the August polls, Raila Amolo Odinga to recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta for the sake of peace and economic prosperity of this nation.

Led by Garissa county Supkem chairman Abdullahi Salat and national chairman of the Livestock Marketing Council, Dubat Amey, the leaders said that there is no way this nation will become peaceful if Raila, a former prime minister, does not recognize the current regime.“How do you demand electoral justice when you don’t recognize the government in place? I want to advise Raila Odinga to cool down and recognize President Uhuru if he surely has the interests of the nation at heart,” Amey said, as quoted by The Star. The leaders also said that the concerns of the opposition politicians are genuine but faulted them for using what they termed as wrong channels in pushing for their reforms in the government. The leader of the opposition recently dropped his plans to sworn in after consulting different parties. Raila had said that he is not a coward and will not sit back to watch the Jubilee government ruining the economy of this nation.
