A day after a section of Nyamira leadership demanded that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i respect Chief Justice David Maraga, more leaders have joined the debate.
In an interview with the Sunday Nation, Matiang'i slammed the judiciary, insisting that it was rogue.
"We do not have a credible judiciary and we should have now more robust debates on the smae. We are pretending that we have one," he said.
Throughout his tenure as CJ, Maraga has presided over grand breaking cases including two presidential elections.
Ex-North Mugirango MP Charles Geni has termed Matiang'i's remarks as 'unfortunate' adding that they were not in good faith.
"Maraga has presided over major cases and we have seen positive reactions from the public. Those condemning the judiciary are not fair," he said.
Nyamira senator Okong'o Mogeni said: "I have been to courts and I want to confirm this is the best moment to serve as a lawyer. Our judiciary is doing quite well."
For months now, Matiang'i has been facing hostility from his Nyamira home with a section of Jubilee leaders terming him as 'alien'.
