After keeping Kenyans guessing what his position was on Raila's call for a referendum was, President Uhuru came out clearly on Friday and his answer was a resounding no!

The president said that he had better things to do with his time rather than crisscrossing the country talking about a referendum.

Kenyans from across the political spectrum have been reacting to the dramatic development.

''I knew that Uhuru would not support the call for a referendum that would bring about a constitutional change. Raila is on his own,'' Khatib Bunow said.

''This was all about rewarding individuals with seats and not about an agenda that will bring Kenyans together. I am glad that our president said no,'' Salim Damo said.

''I think the president was wrong on this one. It is only a constitutional change that will prevent the tensions that we have been seeing after elections,'' Sabrina Galgalo said.

''I support Raila's referendum call because I believe it will heal the historical rifts in the country,'' Madina Mohammed said.

Raila Odinga is yet to respond to President Uhuru's tough words.

It would be interesting to see what the political implications of the president's stance will be moving forward.
