Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Wednesday unveiled an initiative which will see students from the constituency secure jobs in the US.

Speaking during the launch of projects undertaken by the Gatundu South CDF at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Gatundu Campus, the MP said the new campus in Mutunguru will exclusively train students for US market."The new campus at Mutunguru will train students exclusively for the US market, an initiative I launched last year in partnership with Amherst College, University of Massachusetts," he said.Kuria noted that the programme at the campus will kick off in September, after getting approval from the KMTC Board."We expect to kick off in September this year after obtaining requisite approvals by the KMTC Board," said Kuria.The college had only 58 students when it was opened in April 2016. However, the number rose to 400 students after barely two years, due to aggressive infrastructure investment by the CDF.The institution also has additional capacity for 100 students, which will be filled during the upcoming intake.The MP also donated a bus to ease transport between the two campuses."To connect the Gatundu Main Campus and the Mutunguru main campus, I handed over a bus we have purchased through CDF that will help ease transport between the two campuses," he added.
