Kenneth Kimani was killed in 2013 at Githurai, Kiambu County by Titus Musila aka Katitu, the police officer. It is said that he died from gunshot wounds.

The brother to Kimani died the following year, which the mother said was as a result of shots from the same police officer.

However, the mother told the judge of the high court, Justice James Wakiaga that she did not believe in 'tit for tat' as a fair game in systematic justice. He urged the court to give the culprit any other sentence apart from death.

"I am not a believer in the principle of an eye for an eye and I do not believe in the death sentence. I, therefore, urge this court to sentence the accused to the maximum custodial sentence allowed by law," she said, as quoted by the Standard

On the other hand, Githurai residents wanted the officer in question to be released and re-deployed back to Githurai. They said he was committed to fighting criminals in the area.

"All those who were interviewed said they would want the offender posted back to Githurai to not only fight crime but also ensure public safety,” the report filed by probation officer P. Alambo read.
