Speaking on Saturday during an interview with Citizen TV, Gikaria faulted EACC for arresting Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama over fraudulent sale of a piece of land.

“EACC detectives are after frustrating politicians politically and not fighting corruption. It is time EACC should stop harassing politicians on fake and unconfirmed claims,” he said.

Gikaria said EACC should focus sealing loopholes at National Youth Service (NYS) and other ministries where civil servants have stolen huge cash.

“Corruption will not end any time soon if EACC continues to harass innocent people while people who have stolen public funds through dubious dealings are left to walk free,” he said.

The lawmaker called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to consider disbanding EACC claiming officials working at the agency are getting salaries for doing nothing.

Arama was on Friday night arrested by EACC officials over claims of abuse of office.

He was picked up by the detectives around 9 pm and taken to Railways police station where he spent the night.

He is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
