North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko has appealed to the security team in the region to enhance security in the region.
The lawmaker said criminals have been taking advantage of darkness in the constituency to attack and rob people.
"I am appealing to police officers in the region to intensify security patrols to ensure my constituents are safe at all times.
"I don't expect to see or hear anyone has been injured by the lazy youths who have joined criminal groups to terrorize innocent residents," he said.
He asked Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to ensure the police officers deployed to protect the people in the region have no questionable integrity.
"Nakoru should ensure he does not send security officers who will turn to be criminals to protect my people in North Mugirango.
Residents should be on high alert to report the security officers who will collude with criminals and illicit brew dealers in the region," he said.
"The Jubilee MP said he will push the national government through the ministry of Interior to set up more police posts in the constituency.
He faulted Interior Cs Fred Matiang'i for taking away security officers who were serving at a police station that was already been set up in Ekerenyo.
