West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta only gave Sh1 million to the families in Narok accident, dispelling rumours that MPs were given Sh1.5 million.
The lawmaker stated that some local politicians are using youths to spread propaganda on social media, adding that MPs did not pocket Sh500, 000 as alleged.
“No single cent was diverted to my pocket or to any MP’s pocket. The money Uhuru gave us through the Interior Ministry was only Sh1 million which was given to the families. S
"Some local politicians should stop misleading the members of the public that we diverted the money to our pockets,” he said.
Kemosi assured that as the region MPs they respect the dead and there is no way they could divert money meant to transport the bodies from mortuary to respective homes for burial.
“Misusing funeral money will hunt us later and there is no way we could do such a thing as claimed by some social media users.
"Nyamira locals and the bereaved families should ignore the false claims being peddled against us,” he noted.
