Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama says the first three major roads to be tarmacked in the constituency will be done at London estate in Nakuru town.
The MP named the projects to be upgraded as Kirinyaga, Siaya and Prison roads, adding that the roads were prioritised “because you cannot stay in a place where you haven’t developed’.
“There is nothing wrong because from there, we shall build others at Ng’ambo and Mwariki areas. This is because it is the area where I live and I believe charity begins at home,” Arama said.
The ODM MP, who was recently accused of masterminding the disruption of his party’s rally in Kaptembwa, said that it was untenable for ‘strangers to hold a meeting in one’s bedroom’.
“Kaptembwa is my political backyard and no one can hold a rally there without my say as I am the elected peoples’ representative,” the rebel MP, who has been opposing his party’s official position on various issues, said.
“Those who had planned the rally are busybodies and idlers. I only know of Ochieng Dulo being the recognised ODM chairman of Nakuru town.”
The August 10 rally aborted after police moved into the venue, Soko Mjinga market in Kaptembwa and dispersed those present.
This was after rowdy youth started hurling abuses and stones at those in attendance.
Arama opposed the rally saying its agenda did not augur well with local residents who he said were against plans to ask Kenyans to endorse Cord leader Raila Odinga’s referendum call.
