Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has expressed his displeasure with Nairobi governor Mike Sonko by referring to him as a thug.
While taking to social media after the resignation of Nairobi deputy governor Polycarp Igathe, Ngunyi appeared to blame a naive Igathe for not knowing Sonko's true colours.
In a tweet, Ngunyi said Sonko was not a person to be trusted and that Igathe should have known that from the start.
"The currency of politics is not trust. It is common interests. Trust is for girls, if you are a boy," he said.
"Polycarp should not have asked for Sonko's trust. Sonko is not a girl. He is a th*g," he added.
After the resignation of his deputy, the Nairobi governor has not come out to deliver a personal statement over the way forward for Nairobi.
