Nyamira County Assembly Majority Whip Afayo Ngeresa has refuted claims that he voted President Uhuru Kenyatta in October polls.

NASA had boycotted the elections but on Monday, a section of Ngeresa's supporters elected sharp debate online by claiming that participated in the controversial elections.

"Those are concocted lies to spoil my reputation. I was busy looking over my businesses that very day," he said.

Despite NASA's Raila Odinga boycotting the repeat polls, Uhuru was declared winner having scored over 98 percent of votes cast.

But Ngeresa insists that he has been on the front line criticising Uhuru's leadership, adding that the claims could be part of a choreographed scheme to impeach him.

"I have been a number one supporter of the coalition and my Ford Kenya party. Whatever claims they are propagating is pure malice," said the Mekenene MCA.

At Nyamira, Uhuru was yet again declared winner in repeat polls having garnered over 70, 000 votes.
