More than 30 political leaders attended the highly anticipated launch of a video album in Mavoko, Machakos County on Sunday.
The event organized by one of the top Ukambani gospel singers, Justus Myello, surprised many when NASA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) stormed the function contrary to residents'expectations.
The trio was accompanied by former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, MPs Patrick Makau (Mavoko), Dan Maanzo (Makueni), Edith Nyenze (Kitui West), Stephen Mule (Matungulu), Ayub Savula (Lugari), Woman Representatives Rose Museo (Makueni), Governor Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and several MCAs.
The event took place at the African Inland Church (A.I.C) in Athi River town.
The artist who was launching his "Ndina sponsor" album had 3 days before the event written on his Instagram and Facebook accounts that he had invited Hon. Muthama who promised to bring forth the 3 Nasa figures.
"Confirmed, it's in the hearts of the kings. Today, I invited Hon. Johnstone Muthama and Mavoko MP Hon. Makau and they said that will bring Kalonzo,Weta and Mudavadi" he wrote.
Many fans took this as a joke but they believed when the principals arrived.
The event is, among the most attended launch in Ukambani with thousands in attendance.
It was a boost to the Ukambani local artists who got an opportunity to showcase their talents during the event
Myello is very popular in Ukambani and has many songs under his name like "Katiwa", "Aka Mevata" and many others.
