Below are top 5 things you should watch out for in this city in the sun:

1. The Nairobi beggars

It is only in Nairobi where you will find the highest number of beggars and the funniest thing is that a good number of them are not actually disabled. Watch out for who you donate for despite your level of sympathy and empathy. Don't be lured into donating by those fake burns (not in all cases though). Some of these fake beggars may be way much ahead of you money wise.

2. The pata potea thing

This is so common especially along River Road and OTC. You can pass over such points and get lured by how people win a lot of money not realizing that the winners are actually the business partners of the tricksters. Watch out for such.

3. Fake diploma colleges

People try to survive in Nairobi by all means. Some have gone to an extent of advertising fake educational centres obviously offering fake courses mainly diploma courses. Don't be trapped to enroll for such. Be warned.

4. Demos in the city

You are coming from 'ocha' where demos are rare or if there are then they are mild and no cases of confrontation with police officers are witnessed. In Nairobi you will have to forget that perspective. In other words, avoid demos in the city because you may end up where you have never thought you'd be any sooner.

5. Madam mboch

Yeah. They really tempt new men in the city nowadays and believe me they look way much hotter than the number one princes back in your village. They won't let you say a word or two before falling for you. Stay alert, don't fall into their traps because you will be surprised to have a family when you didn't expect.
