Kiambu County is one of the 12 counties where no exam cheating incidents were reported.

This was said during the release of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) on Wednesday in a colourful event at Mitihani House, Nairobi.

About 937,467 students sat for the exam mid last month after a five-week teachers strike. The student numbers increased from 880,486 last year.

In the event presided over by Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, this marked the second year in a row where ranking of candidates or schools will not happen after it was banned by the then Education CS Prof Jacob Kaimenyi.

“Counties must deal with the vice from the county level and address the issue with the seriousness it deserve to end cheating in our schools,” CS Matiangi

There were several exam malpractices where 1,702 students cheated in 2014 KCPE, a vice attributed to ill preparation.
