It became evident that even the United Kingdom warns her citizens living in Nairobi to be careful from the high number of muggers in the city.

The increased number of mugging in the city prompted the county government to form an anti-mugging unit. The police were also questioned on their roles in providing security to the residents.

The effectiveness of the CCTV cameras in the city was not spared too.

Below are places to be careful while walking in the streets of Nairobi.

Temple and Hakati roads as well as Moi and Haile Selassie Avenues as the hot spots for the muggings.

Other areas include the lower CBD, OTC Racecourse road, Uyoma road near St Peter's Clever Church and the junction of Ronald Ngala and Racecourse roads towards River road.

These thieves mainly cause injuries as they target phones, watches, laptops, handbags, fancy spectacles, earrings and chains.

As the saying goes that you never know when the thieve strike, these have proven wrong. They are reported to be active torturing Kenyans from 4 am to 6am and from 7 pm to 11 pm.
