Opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga seems to have re-branded himself following his recent peace pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The aging veteran politician's political fate was thrown into limbo, following his inability to secure the presidency in the concluded poll, a contest which many observed as his last shot at the top post.

His newfound friendship with the Jubilee leadership, however, seems to have renewed him politically, with politicians and commentators already anticipating his role or possible post in the approaching 2022 general elections.

However, having been involved in a series of disagreements with his NASA co-principals lately, as a result of his secret meeting with Kenyatta and his Orange Democratic Party's (ODM) assault on Ford Kenya leader and the alliance co-chief Moses Wetangula, Odinga is likely to lose his old friends.

Should the ODM party part ways with Wiper, Amani and Ford kenya blocs, the former Prime Minister will be forced to look for separate avenues of maintaining his political relevance, with the first option being joining Jubilee through a merger or coalition.

This is likely to give his political domination a continuation and also guarantee him and his party a position, or several, in the upcoming polls, should his side win.

He could as well drop the trio for a new coalition, which he could either lead or mentor to the polls, a step that will re-ignite the falling political anxiety in the country.

Also, he could renounce his party's assault on Wetangula, reconcile with the remaining NASA member parties and reclaim his spot in the alliance. However, this is likely to lower his pride as he seems to already have one of his legs outside the alliance.

Odinga can also decide to go it alone all through, by preparing his party for a one-man-fight in the 2022 general elections. This is, however, unlikely to achieve any good results with the tribal nature of the Kenyan politics, meaning that he is only likely to get the backing of a few communities allied to the party

Lastly, the leader can decide to exit active politics and run the game from behind the scenes.
