A total of 18 MPs from three NASA coalition affiliate parties - Ford Kenya, Amani National Congress (ANC) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have asked its co-party, Wiper Democratic Movement, to declare its stand in the opposition coalition.

Led by ANC's nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi, the MPs claimed Wiper was 'rocking the coalition boat from within'.

He said: "Wiper should state categorically if it walked out of NASA without our knowledge. We also urge the Speaker not to act on any letter but instead refer the matter to the relevant structures of NASA."

The MPs cited a letter by Wiper to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, that called for replacement of Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga (ODM) in the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC), saying it deserved the slot.

Wiper whose leader is Kalonzo Musyoka, wants its Borabu MP Benson Momanyi, to replace Wanga, days after the coalition picked her (Wanga), Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, and Vihiga Senator George Khaniri to the PSC.

"Wiper cannot be in NASA when it is convenient. We want to remind Wiper that 2017 was just days ago while 2022 is not far," added Wajir West MP Ahmed Kolosh, who further demanded that Wiper withdraws the letter sent to Muturi.

Osotsi said Wiper got the deputy minority leader in the National Assembly and minority whip in the Senate was enough.

On his part, Uriri MP Mark Nyamita said: "The only thing we expect from Wiper is when Kalonzo Musyoka will be sworn in as the people’s deputy president. Nothing else."

They addressed the press at Parliament buildings on Tuesday.
