A fortnight ago, Interior CS Fred Matiang'i was among three officials convicted of court contempt, a move that has not gone well with ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire.

"It is now clear that President Uhuru Kenyatta worships impunity. Top members of government have publicly demanded parliament's support to operate above the law," he said.

Just barely a month after Uhuru signed a peace deal with ODM leader Raila Odinga, politicians from the latter's wing have publicly condemned the government's attitude towards the rule of law.

And the ex-Kitutu Masaba MP says violation of the constitution and gross impunity is glorified from the top thus the arrogance manifested by some civil servants.

"The government's routine violation of the constitution is now in their policy, sanctioned and engineered by Uhuru himself," he added.

Should the government fail to adhere to the law, Bosire adds, the country could soon plunge into deep constitutional crisis and eventually into a lawlessness nation.
