Despite his public endorsement of Raila Odinga's swearing-in, Siaya Senator James Orengo may have changed his heart, reveals the Sunday Nation.

Before the much hyped swearing-in, Orengo is said to have gone blunt over the matter during a tense meeting last Sunday in which diplomats were present.

"For the first time Raila find himself alone with not even Orengo could tell what next after the swearing-in," reported the Star.

With swearing-in still being one of key agenda slated for NASA's Wednesday meeting, Orengo is said to have deserted the idea.

A legal opinion by NASA top lawyers under Orengo, that is since in possession of Sunday Nation, dissuades Odinga against the inauguration plans.

"Raila is currently under the sway of radical elements within NASA who are leading him along a political direction that could compromise his legacy.

"We must be fair to Raila and not spill everything he has achieved in terms of legacy by providing him only radical options," read part of the opinion.

Although it is not clear what Odinga would do next, the Wednesday's meeting in which Kalonzo Musyoka will attend will be critical for the NASA coalition.

As one of top legal advisers of Odinga, Orengo is believed to be the architect behind Odinga's decision to withdraw from the race.
