Komu stated that he had not been given a fair hearing and there was no formal meeting convened for such a radical move. He has been replaced by Patrick Chege Wanjiru.

The embattled majority leader was kicked out of office by members of the county assembly for irregularly removing from office various chairmen in different committees a few months after he took office.

Allegedly, Komu said they were invited to a TNA meeting at night by Chief whip Charles Arahuka, and then things took a drastic turn.

“The chief whip sent me a message at around 9pm informing me there was a meeting the following day. The meeting kicked off at noon and in less than two hours, I had been kicked out of office. In the afternoon, the house was informed of the move,” said Komu.

Komu, who is the Ndarugo MCA, said the accusations levelled against him were baseless and untrue. He said the decision to remove the three chairmen from office was arrived at by then speaker Nick Ndichu who was removed from his position early this year.

Other accusations levelled against him include lacking the goodwill to help members of the assembly, not agitating for government business in the house and using threatening messages on county staff.

Komu has denied the allegations saying he has conducted his business fairly and within the law at all times. The MCA vowed to take legal action on the allegation that he had threatened county staffs with threatening messages as it touches on his character as a person.

He was also on the solidarity trip to the ICC with the President recently and assured that each of the MCA that had accompanied him had footed their own air travel and hotel bills and no public funds were spent.
