He said the law still stands and anyone who will go against it will face the full force of the law.

“We have received information that there are bars and restaurants selling alcohol during odd hours contrary to the law. Anyone who will be found will be arrested and charged on the same and their businesses immediately closed down,” he said in Eldoret town, Friday.

“Bars and restaurants should strictly observe ‘Mututho laws’ which requires bars to be open from 5 p.m to 11 pm on weekdays and from 2 p.m to 11 pm on weekends,” he added.

Boit called upon bar owners and operators to make sure that they adhere to the law adding that police will be conducting patrols to deal with the rule breakers.

“It is the festive season and we are telling bar operators to make sure that they adhere to the law on the sale of alcohol and should ensure they don’t sell alcohol to minors,” he said.
