The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Chepkoilel branch Sammy Bor has urged parents to monitor the movements of their daughters, especially during this festive season.

He said this will help them not engage in the bad company thus destroying their morals.

“Parents should be on the watch out of the whereabouts of their children especially girls since most of them attend nightclubs, discos among other leading to teenage pregnancies and also contracting of HIV/AIDs virus,” he said in Eldoret town, Wednesday.

“Parents should stop their children from attending avenues since it will also lead to low academic standard and dismal performance in examinations. It’s sad that parents have forgotten their roles instead delegating them to teachers and relatives its time they wake up and take their roles,” he added.

He, however,  called upon TSC to deploy more teachers in the regions since the current number is just a drop in the ocean.

“How can a school have 15 Board of Management teachers and only 5 TSC teachers and you expect it to perform well?. They should act at speed before the future of our children is destroyed," noted Bor.
