He was in the coastal region, and as expected the swearing-in question popping up.The coastal leaders who spoke pleaded with Odinga to pick the Bible and take the oath of office.''Please take the Bible and take the oath of office. The Bible is here as a powerful expression of our desire to see you take the oath of office. Our hearts want you to do it. I wish I was the one to administer that oath now.'' Aisha Jumwa said when she rose to speak.
Raila Odinga was expected to swear himself in during the Jamhuri Day celebrations but that move was abandoned in the 11th hour much to the disappointment of the NASA rank and file.
Odinga maintained that he would take the Bible in the fullness of time.
