Police launch investigations to find out cause of Daraja Mbili fire

Police officers have launched investigations to establish the cause of a Tuesday morning fire that razed down business stalls at Daraja Mbili market.

Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi, officers will soon provide more details on the possible cause of the fire. 

"As of now we can not tell what caused the fire which razed down several business stalls but our officers have launched investigations into the matter," he said.investigations

He asked anyone with information that may help them in investigations to inform the police.

Abdi also said that traders who were affected by the fire will be helped with funds to restart their businesses.

"Small scale traders who lost property will be assisted to rebuild the stalls for them to restart businesses afresh," he said.

He called on the traders to be patient as plans to compensate them were underway.   

The fire incident comes three weeks after another fire broke and razed down shops in the area.
