Police in Nakuru have rescued three children locked in a house by their parent for up to six months.

The incident at Pipeline estate left neighbours shocked. The kids have been using the house as a latrine to relieve themselves.The situation in the room was pathetic.The officers were forced to cut through the window using a hacksaw in order to rescue the kids.“This is not a good thing at all. We are calling on police to intervene so that the parent is arrested,” said a neighbour.The kids are aged eight, five and two.Speaking after the rescue, Nakuru East Nyumba Kumi initiative chairperson Ibrahim Ogeto while condemning the incident said they will continue to protect the rights of children.“We got information from the public that children are locked up in a house in Pipeline. They have been taken to Bondeni police station. We will ensure justice and rights of the children are protected,” said Ogeto.It is not clear what business the mother is involved in. Neighbours said she leaves early in the morning and returns late night.Police have launched manhunt for the mother of the three.#bizarre
