The Kamba community and entire nation are mourning the demise of musician Ancent Munyambu. According to a local daily, the deceased met his death while talking to his fans at a bus stage in Nairobi. The Music Society of Kenya (MCSK) vice chairman Lazarus Muli has confirmed the death. The artist died outside an entertainment joint located in Kamukunji where musicians from this community have been performing.
‘’Ancent Munyambu died while talking to his fans at a bus stage right outside a popular entertainment joint in Kamukunji, where Kamba musicians religiously perform every Sunday,’’ Muli said as quoted by a local daily.
Muli said that the deceased is likely to have suffered from cardiac arrest.
‘’Munyambu could have died from cardiac arrest. Before the unfortunate incident occurred, he was talking to people joyously. We unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate him after he collapsed in vain.’’ Muli added.
His fans and local leaders have continued to send their messages of condolence to the family during this moment of trial.
