Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mabel Imbuga has hosted officials from the postal company to discuss how the postal services provider could utilise innovations from the varsity to enhance its service delivery.

PCK seeks to transform its mail, courier and financial services according to their 2013-2016 strategic plan.

Mail and Courier General Manager Stephen Muriuki noted that more people, corporate and government agencies are moving away from physical mails hence the need to innovate and keep up with the demands and current consumer expectations.

The United Nations Protocol demands the government to ensure that communication channels are available and affordable to every citizen not withstanding their location and it is towards that goal that PCK has embarked on an ambitious plan to utilise ICT in its operations.

Prof Imbuga said that the institution has a rich history of customised solutions for a number of gaps in the industry that involve ICT, agriculture and enterprise development and engineering.

She assured that JKUAT had a pool of innovative and highly trained professionals who could help the corporation in its quest to use ICT in its operations.

Innovation and Business Systems Manager, Renken Muinde and Research and Development Manager, Johnstone Senete also praised the university saying they were confident that they are up to the task.
