There was drama last week as Mombasa County government and National Land Commission at Fort Jesus over fears of land reclamation by a private developer.The Chairman of the National Land Commission (NLC) Mohammed Swazuri said that a deal had been reached with the National Museums of Kenya and the construction of the disputed wall will go ahead unopposed.''Now we have had sittings with them and it has been established that it is not about the reclamation of the land but about protecting the wall. This has been necessitated by climate change,'' Prof. Mohammed Swazuri.The deal removes the only obstacle to efforts initiated by the National Museums of Kenya to protect the Fort Jesus wall.
