President Uhuru Kenyatta could be dishonouring the agreement of the handshake between him and former NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Saturday, Raila pointed out that former Nairobi governor aspirant Miguna Miguna was to be part of the beneficiaries of their agreement which aimed at unifying the country.

Terming Miguna's plight as a “sad incident”, Raila revealed that he raised the topic and agreed with President Kenyatta that Miguna should be allowed back to Kenya.

“I talked with President Kenyatta himself and told him that Miguna must be part of the handshake,” he said.

However, the government part seems not to be committed to honouring the Miguna part.

Government officials on Wednesday put strict conditions on Miguna, something that prompted him not to come back to the country as he could not be cleared by the Immigration Department.

Miguna was last week nominated by the Nairobi governor Mike Sonko to deputise him at the helm of the city after Polycarp Igathe resigned in January.
