Although Kisii County has been a stronghold of Raila in his political journey, many of his supporters withdrew their support immediately after his speech in Kisii on Friday.

This was during the burial ceremony of NASA strategist Prof. Tumbo Oeri.

Some of NASA supporters claimed that they were done with Raila since he reconciled with Uhuru for his own selfish gains and not for the interests of NASA supporters at large.

Thompston Ombwori said he has been a staunch supporter of Odinga since year 2007 but his decision to 'betray' millions of people who were behind him, leaves him with no option other than withdrawing his support.

"I have been supporting Raila for almost 12 years now. I thought he would stand firm and and become a legitimate leader of the people. I supported him because he espoused the tenets I acclaim. But I have withdrawn my support completely." Ombwori said.

"I thought he would say something good to earn my support back, but his speech was an emblem of betrayal" he added.

Another supporter Janet Omari said that all the NASA supporters who died in the struggle to bring about change in the country, cannot allow her to continue endorsing Raila.

"I was expecting him to pay tribute to the fallen gallant supporters who lost lives during the bitter and deadly fight. Raila didn't mention it. This shows all who died have been sent to oblivion.

"A tree of freedom is watered by blood but after ours was watered by deadly killings, Raila and the three cowards (Mudavadi,Kalonzo,Wetangula) uprooted it. I can not and will never trust them again," Omari said.

She regretted that innocent souls were lost in cold blood, only for Raila to succumb to the forces.

Vincent Nyakundi also said that NASA coalition is soon becoming a tribal affair while noting that Uhuru, Raila truce was egocentric and the common Kenyan will suffer the most.

"We placed all out loyalty to Raila. We thought he could fight for change only to bring change in their coalition. The ouster of one of the principals that he indicate that the coalition will soon become a Luo cocoon. Let Raila fool others but not me!" Nyakundi said.

Raila has, however, said that all he wanted for the country was peace. He also said that their deal did not mean he is under Jubilee.

“The meeting between me and Uhuru was not in bad faith because it only focused on uniting the nation. We never agreed that I will sell NASA or ODM supporters to Jubilee party. I will never betray the people who have been championing for democracy in this country. Supporters should not see me as an enemy,” he said.
