The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is set to have a national executive council meeting and its parliamentary group.

The meeting is aimed to put the party in order after it's members declared to support DP Ruto in 2022.

The leaders decided to back Ruto despite a warning from the party secretary-general Edwin Sifuna.

Also in the meeting’s agenda is how to tackle uncertainties on the party’s future following the March handshake and to shed light on how Mr Odinga intends to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

ODM national treasurer Timothy Bosire confirmed to local dailies that the party leader called for the meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

The forum also to be attended by all ODM governors will help members get clarification on whether Mr. Odinga still intends to go for the presidency in future.

According to ODM National Chairman John Mbadi, the party intends to remove nonperforming MPs from house watchdog committees.

“Some of our members are not taking their roles seriously. We are watching keenly and those who will not live up to the expectations will be removed from committees,” said Mbadi.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, who is expected back in the country on Wednesday, is reportedly planning to kickstart meet-members tours to stamp ODM firmly in its place.
