National Majority Leader Aden Duale has opposed a bill that could have locked out Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga from contesting for Presidency in 2022.
According to Duale, the petition has already flopped.
He said that the Jubilee side will not support the passing of the bill, adding that is unconstitutional.
“What is before the House is a petition, and the Justice and legal affairs committee will throw it out for being unconstitutional,” he exclaimed.
There has been a debate on whether the age limit should be introduced for Presidency.
The Luo political kingpin is among the leaders who are likely to be affected if the bill is adopted.
It remains unclear whether Raila, who has contested for four times, will throw himself in the race for the nation’s top seat.
Several leaders from both sides have been asking the opposition leader to hang his political boots.
The leader of the opposition has, however, remained one of the forces to reckon with in the political scene.
A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have been asking Raila to back another candidate for the post when that time comes.
