On Friday at a stopover in the town that witnessed many cases of police brutality,  Raila confirmed the ongoing plans.

"I am not a fool to have accepted to work with Uhuru.  In few days, you'll start to see many projects being initiated around.

"Personally,  I will host Uhuru here so that we unite our people.  Negative ethnicity must end and it's us who can make that history," said Raila.

The joint rally,  which is part of the piece deal,  will be the first between the two leaders in as many years.

Before Uhuru changed heart in 2006 to back retired President Mwai Kibaki, the two leaders had a short stint at the ODM party.

At Siaya on Saturday,  Raila defended his move to reunite with Uhuru adding that his supporters will benefit.

"We shall push for electoral reforms,  return of Miguna Miguna and many other things that have derailed develodevelopment."
