A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) in Kisumu County has urged veteran politician, Raila Amolo Odinga not to change plans over his swearing-in scheduled early next year.

Led by Kondele ODM chairman George Anayo , the group said that it is ready to wait no matter how long it will take them to see the ‘People’s President’ take over power.

They also expressed optimism that the Former Prime Minister will announce the new date he intends to take an oath of office.

The ceremony had been slated to take place last week on Tuesday but it was postponed following consultations.

“We know the journey to Canaan has been full of ups and downs. But we are not giving up. We urge 'Baba’ to soldier on,” Anayo said, as quoted by The Star.

On his part, Manyatta Bunge la Wananchi speaker Harrison Ombore called on the opposition to be patient until the Canaan dream is realized.

The opposition leader succumbed to pressure from the international and religious to change his plans for the swearing-in ceremony.

The ODM leader later came out to announce the cancellation of the program following weeks of talks with different groups.  Raila and his allies, have, however, maintained that they do not recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.
