Mr. Duale has, however, said the talks between President Uhuru and Raila will not touch on some areas that might affect the country.

Mr. Duale said that the Jubilee party is not interested in talking about electoral justice and reforms when the two leaders meet.

The Garissa Township MP added that the Jubilee party is only interested in talks of unity and development so that the country can move forward.

“We are not going to talk about electoral justice, that should be very clear. We will also not talk about changing the governance structure. That will involve a referendum. We don't want to put the country into an election mood as Jubilee,” Mr. Duale said in an interview with NTV on Wednesday.

Mr. Duale has however clarified that he had not received instructions from Uhuru on what to do as the Majority Leader with regard to the president's recent talks with Raila.

“I have no instructions on what to do as the leader of the majority in as far as the famous handshake is concerned,” he added.
