A section of ODM leaders have faulted Raila Odinga following his move to support reelection of Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka.

Elected on a Ford Kenya ticket, Onyonka was backed by Raila at the expense of ODM candidate Samuel Omwando in the November mini poll.

And Kitutu Masaba ODM Youth League leader Dougas Maati said: "Raila usually makes mistakes by not consulting those on ground. We strongly opposed his decision to back Onyonka."

His Borabu counterpart Benson Saisi called for immediate de-whipping Onyonka from NASA over his decision to back President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"Our party leader rewards moles at the expense of loyalists. What we are seeing is purely a blunder by him," he said adding that such leaders derails NASA's push for electoral justice.

At parliament on Tuesday, Onyonka insisted that he is committed to support Uhuru adding that Gusii community was happy with decision to retain Fred Matiang'i in cabinet.

Facing a real threat of losing the seat, Onyonka had pleaded with Moses Wetangula to persuade Raila to intervene.
