Despite both NASA and Jubilee holding a series of campaigns in Kisii and Nyamira Counties, President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to be the big winner in the recently concluded elections.

Although he lost in Kisii County where statistics show that he improved from 2013 dismal results, Uhuru managed to take Nyamira by a whopping 52 percent.

His smart campaigns that involved using of education CS Fred Matiangi, and developing regional schools could be credited to his magnificent improvement in the region that had a total of 800, 000 registered voters.

“Uhuru worked closely with Matiangi who put focus in improving education sector in the region,” says analyst Gideon Mamboleo.

He adds: “Odinga’s failed to resolve nomination crisis that hit ODM in the region and this could be the major reason why locals punished him.”

While Jubilee party managed to clinch five seats from the total of 17 Parliamentary seats (senate and National Assembly), ODM managed only three county seats that includes two senators and one Women Representative from the region, with no singly National Assembly seat.
