Uasin Gishu gospel ministers chairman Wilson Kurui has condemned Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei for calling for the cleansing of Salgaa black spot by Kalenjin elders. He said cleansing is only done by bishops and church leaders and not elders.“It is not that we are fighting Kalenjin elders but it’s our mandate to conduct such rituals. As gospel ministers from Uasin Gishu we will soon conduct prayers at Salgaa black spot for these accidents to end,” he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.“We will cleanse and dedicate the place to the Lord. We want the spirits that are claiming lives at Salgaa and Sachangwan to be defeated in Jesus name, we are tired of accidents a day in day out,” he added.

He, however, said all tribes should be involved in the process.

“It’s not Kalenjin alone who have lost their loved one at Salgaa along Eldoret Nakuru highway, therefore everyone should be involved,” he said.

Kurui urged the Ministry of transport and the National Transport and Safety Authority to find alternative routes for tracks since they are the major causes of accidents along Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.
