Residents of Mochenwa in Masaba North, Nyamira County were left in a rude shock after a man married his neighbor’s wife.
Edwin Anyega is said to have snatched his neighbor’s wife only identified as Joan.
Residents said Joan’s previous husband identified as Sereti has been beating the woman.
“Joan had troubles in the first marriage. Her former husband used to beat her up without valid reasons,” said a local Emmanuel Okari.
When elders questioned Anyega why he decided to marry his neighbor’s wife he said Joan was a good woman with a bad husband.
“I have in several occasions rescued Joan from the numerous beatings Sereti has subjected her into. She is a good woman and will take good care of her until death parts us,” said Anyega.
He said he will not regret his decision to marry the woman because he could not continue seeing Joan being beaten by Sereti.
Anyega said he started seducing his neighbor’s wife 6 months ago until they reached a decision to marry each other and make a family together.
Joan was married for 8 months with her former husband and they were yet to be blessed with a child.
