''So there is nothing wrong with nominating Miguna Miguna as my deputy governor even though I admit I did not consult him,'' Governor Sonko said.

Kenyans have been reacting to this surprising revelation that there were no consultations between the two.

Garissa residents have not been left behind in reacting.

Here are some of their reactions:

''I think it was not right for Sonko to nominate Miguna without first consulting him. He should have consulted him,'' Osman Kulo said.

''Uhuru nominated some of his Cabinet Secretaries without consulting them first. I see nothing wrong with Sonko doing the same thing,'' Balo Karim said.

''It is up to Miguna to accept or reject the nomination. Lack of consultation is not an issue to me,'' Medina Abad said.

''Nairobi is a crucial county. The way that Sonko went about the nomination was not the right way. At least he should have consulted the general,'' Abdi Kadre said.

''That's a non-issue for me,'' Kindink Bunow said.
