Nairobi governor Mike Sonko now says that he needs more time to deliver on his campaign promises.

Addressing the press during a retreat aimed at streamlining the county water supply in Mombasa Monday, the county boss who pledged to address a number of issues including the garbage menace within his first 3 months in office changed tact appealing for more time.

He however said that his office is in the course of establishing long-term remedies for the same pledging to have the results evident in good time.

''Most of the problems being faced in Nairobi cannot be solved in one or even two hundred days. We need more time to realize our dream for the city,'' said the county chief.

About the water shortage being experienced in some parts of the city currently, the Governor said that his administration is striving to find a lasting solution to the same.

''We are aware of the current water shortage in the city and are doing everything to bring it to a halt,'' he said.

The meeting was also attended by officials from the county government and the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company.
